Please note that we are located in a forested area including hills and various types of loose surface footpaths, and those with balance or ambulatory challenges are encouraged to contact us directly to make sure that the campus is comfortable for you.

We also ask that you speak quietly in the Lodge or Modular Cabins and observe an attitude of quiet after 9:00 PM so that all guests have the experience of a peaceful environment.

Please note, though we honor personal choices, we request that you not use marjiuana, other recreational drugs or alcohol at Sanctuary.

We suggest casual, comfortable clothing. Sanctuary has all four seasons. Therefore we suggest you check the weather and temperatures during the time of your retreat. Our packing suggestions include the following:

  • T-shirts, jeans, slacks, and shorts
  • Warm sweater, jacket – cooler months
  • Warm jacket, winter coat, gloves – cold months
  • Hat/cap (appropriate to the season)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Casual wear
  • Sneakers or light hiking shoes for gravel pathways
  • Slip-on shoes. In some spaces, we ask you to remove footwear.
  • Sunscreen (seasonal)
  • Insect repellent (seasonal)
  • Flashlight

At Sanctuary, we want you to escape the stresses of living by offering you a haven of peace. Smartphones are permitted however, to respect the tranquility of other guests, we ask that phones be switched off and not used in any public areas of the property. They may be used in your rooms or on the grounds. Laptops are also allowed, although we recommend you leave work at work, remember this is your time out. High-speed WiFi is available in all buildings. Due to our location set in the mountains, cell service is limited.

Many guests come alone, a good way to truly retreat and capture the essence of Sanctuary. Our team will make sure you are well looked after whether you choose a solitary retreat or the company of others. Sanctuary is a wonderful place to establish friendships, connect with others or simply sit back with time to nurture and contemplate.

Some therapies and specialty treatments are exclusive to certain therapists and have limited availability. For this reason, we highly recommend you book your wellbeing services and any additional activities in advance prior to your arrival. This will ensure time is allocated and you don’t miss out.

As we are a retreat center and value time out for you and others to get the most out of your stay, we welcome guests age 18 or older.

Since some guests are not comfortable with animals or have allergies please arrange a separate retreat for your pet while you visit Sanctuary.

Sanctuary does not accommodate RVs or camping. For retreats that have a commuter option (please check a retreat description’s right side column for a commuter option) there are regional campgrounds with an RV Park.
